Chic Revival

So you're going green and perhaps you want to reduce your carbon footprint and look chic at the same time? As a shopaholic, I know the feeling of being torn between buying the latest trends and wanting to reduce my consumption of newly manufactured goods. Shopping vintage is the perfect solution, and Revival in Sherman Oaks, CA is the place to find classic couture for a fraction of retail prices. Revival proprietor Nicole Swasey stocks her beautifully appointed vintage boutique with fine women's clothing, accessories, and shoes from designers such as Gucci, Chanel, Lanvin, and Missoni, to name a few. "Buying vintage and collectible clothing is a perfect fit for for today's environmentally and budget conscious woman," says Swasey. "You can stretch your fashion dollars, reuse and recycle, and at the same time not look like everyone else."

Swasey's Ventura Boulevard store stocks a collection mostly from the 1950s through the 1980s, and includes dresses, handbags, coats, sweaters, blouses, shoes, hats, and unique jewelry. She likes to call her style funky-glam. "I love mixing the old with the new," says Swasey. "My typical Revival client will pair a vintage piece with this season's newest must-have."

Revival Vintage is located at 13940 Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks, CA. Open Monday through Saturday from 11am to 6pm and by appointment. Phone: 818-783-8400.
